Child obesityOne of the unhappiest sights that can be seen is probably teen and youth obesity. Such overweight youths also find their own lives very miserable, because many things will come in their way. It will be difficult for them to make friends at school as they will be mercilessly bullied because of their obesity. They’ll also suffer medically, because obesity gives rise to so many other complications. It’s high time we help out our youths and shake their bad habits out of them so that they become fit and healthy. However, teen and youth obesity is a problem that is not so easy to tackle. This is because it is not always the result of eating too much or lazing about; it can also be inherited or occur due to existing medical conditions, like thyroid gland problems. Because obesity will almost certainly lead to many other medical problems, you should act immediately to save your child from these troubles.

Teenagers should be advised to spend time outside their houses playing and exercising, so that they don’t stay idle sitting in front of TV screens or playing with computers. They should be shown healthy alternatives to junk food which lacks nutritional balance. In this way you can protect your children from the many hardships that obesity brings with it.

As for children, they should also be encouraged to participate more in outdoor activities. This, along with a balanced diet, will help them burn extra calories. It will be very helpful to tackle obesity at an early stage and thus decrease the chances of leading a miserable life.

It is up to the parents to take action and not allow teen and youth obesity to spoil their precious lives. The parents should themselves be a good example to their children for better success. Children should be warned of the ill consequences of obesity and put on the road to a bright future!
